Surface Medical Inc. (“SMI”) announced today that it successfully obtained a CE Mark in Europe, and launches in the United Kingdom (UK) with leading distributor Henleys Medical Supplies.

SMI is pleased to announce that CleanPatch, the first medical surface repair product for damaged mattresses and stretchers, has successfully obtained its CE mark – a mandatory conformity marking for certain products sold within the European Union. CE marking signifies that CleanPatch conforms with all European directives that apply to the product line, and allows SMI to pursue commercialization and distribution opportunities within the European market.

Upon completing the regulatory requirements for CleanPatch, SMI is also pleased to announce an agreement with leading distributor Henleys Medical Supplies Ltd (“Henleys”) for distribution in the UK healthcare market. Henleys is a family business founded in 1948, and committed to providing quality products to its healthcare customers, with a keen focus on new ideas and concepts like CleanPatch. Initial discussions with healthcare facilities in UK suggest that CleanPatch would be a welcomed solution to the widespread problem of damaged mattresses and stretchers and corresponding infection control risks.
