NURSE MINUTE LAUNCHES ITS 8TH PODCAST EPISODE TO ENGAGE EXPERTS ON IMPORTANCE OF SURFACE INTEGRITY IN HEALTHCARE

Surface Medical Inc. (“SMI”) announced today that it has launched its seventh episode of an exciting new awareness initiative called ‘Nurse Minute’. This Podcast series is hosted by SMI Clinical Educator and features informative interviews with Key Opinion Leaders on the importance of surface integrity for infection prevention in healthcare.

“The surfaces found in healthcare settings are a significant source of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI),” comments Brenda Marks, Clinical Educator at SMI. “Even though guidelines speak to the importance of intact surfaces, we have found that many facilities have mattress damage rates of 25-50%; furthermore, damaged mattresses are not always addressed in a safe and validated manner. It is our hope that Nurse Minute raises awareness of this important infection control issue because we believe every patient deserves an intact and cleanable surface."
